And under new ownership. Let’s do things a little differently now. Instead of submitting bands all the time, pick a band, and share your opinion with us? If you love them, hate them, love one album that they released, but loathe everything else? What if you just really love/hate a musician? Well, this is where you express yourself! All you have to do is submit!
What is your opinion, followers?
*note, this doesn’t mean there won’t be replies for bands you request opinions on, we just want to hear tour opinions too! Oh, and don’t ever stop sending hate mail, it makes us laugh.
So do you guys like Dio? And the albums he produced with Black Sabbath?
A majority of his material is good, Dehumanizer wasn’t very solid though. For someone who’s music career spanned 40+ years, he was fairly consistent, even though he spanned a lot of styles and genres. His voice didn’t drop off and sound like shit like most musicians do after only 20 years.
Reverend Bizarre?
Reverend Bizarre were a unique band I’d say, they blended the styles of older doom like Pentagram, Witchfinder General, etc. and added their own modern touch. Good for them. I do think the overall idea and sound they went for was fairly alright, their downfall was being too repetitious to the point itwould drag out what would have been a great idea on its own into a drawn out mess. There are Sunn O))) songs that can keep my attention better than some of Reverend Bizarre’s more drawn out material. One thing I will end this with and praise them for as well, is that their cover’s of Dunkelheit by Burzum and The Gate of Nanna by Beherit were great, they completely made it their own to the point that it could almost challenge the originals.
Hardcore, yes was originally punk influenced, however dowadays hardcore, deathcore, metalcore, ect is metal influenced. Trust me I know my music probably better than you. Yes some hardcore is still punk influenced but progressive hardcore and boston hardcore are more metal influenced than punk influenced. Deathcore is actually influenced by death metal, and metalcore is influenced by heavy metal, just saying. I knew you would turn my words on myself to make me look like an idiot.
No argument, no matter how valid, no matter how to the point it is, will make it through your thick, ignorant skull, simply because you just don’t get it, and you fail to comprehend. You’re just like the rest of the core kiddies, you fit that to a T. AND you unfollowed us. *gasp* Big. Fucking. Deal. Bu-bye. I hope you clicked that unfollow button with angst.
opinion on Meshuggah?
They basically created the genre and coined the term “Djent”. That itself is enough to write them off. We’re not into bands that constantly go “chugga, chugga, chugga” no matter what kind of time signatures they use.
But atheist use jazz time and other weird things I never hear in death metal how is that average?
Including jazz and other “weird things” doesn’t automatically make it “good”. I can play kazoo in a black metal band, that’s weird too, but it doesn’t mean it’s going to be good and hold up to the greats of the genre. Fast and technical isn’t always the answer to the equation of being great. Sometimes bands that use rather simple riffage are great, that keeps up with the saying of “less is more”. Different things work for different people.
Paradise lost? Like their first 4 albums. and what about Atheist?
It’s kind of hard to say about Paradise Lost, they were one of the big 3 of death/doom in England, along with Anathema and My Dying Bride, played a large part in its formation and influenced a lot of bands since then. The first 4 albums are pretty good releases, they were unique in their own right and seem to have held positive reviews throughout all these years. The one major disappointment about them is that they just completely collapsed after that and have struggled to return to form, they’ve showed a few glimmers of hope, but they just can’t seem to do it.
As for Atheist, they’re your typical death metal band, not good, not bad, average I would say. They never really stood out to me in being spectacular.
savingmyselffordeanambrose asked:
opinions on king diamond/mercyful fate?
The first couple of Mercyful Fate albums are classics for heavy metal in the 80’s, especially Melissa, after that they were not too special. Sorry, I’m not a fan at all of King Diamond’s solo albums, very disappointing for me.
Dissection and Bloodbath?
Storm of the Lights Bane is a classic for the genre, even though it came in a bit late for the black metal scene. I can’t say the same for Reinkaos though, huge let down and sad way for them to go out. Bloodbath WAS good, at least I feel until Dan Swano left. After that, the sound really changed away from the old school death metal sound they had into something much more modern. I feel he had a lot to do with that sound and feel in the early days. The Breeding Death EP still gets some regular rotation from me.
Thanks for not being anon and actually including some good bands for once.
Iron Maiden sells so many tshirts for the same reason Jack Daniels does, the image has become an icon. It has nothing to do with great music or good whiskey. However Maiden has made three good songs, that’s two more than Motorhead.

We can’t keep replying to these anon messages at the rate we’re receiving them. If you want an opinion of a band, just put it in our ask, what is your fear?
also for any of you with even half a brain, it's easy to tell what this blog's favorite bands are. they bash them far less.
No need to be on anon. If there is anyone who reads this blog who doesn’t have a learning or reading impairment, can clearly fucking see we don’t take critical views on all bands entirely. Sure, on some we do, but a lot of this is in plain sight and directed at individual areas, albums, etc. For everyone who visits, It’s an opinion and it’s ours, read it if you’d like and if you don’t, don’t come here to get hurt and offended.
